Follow Meredith’s fight against Metastatic Breast Cancer!

The Battle against Cancer is a Team sport! Team McStroup is a group of friends and family that work together to support Meredith (and each other) in her journey against Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Meredith has decided to share her journey to help others understand the harsh realities of cancer, the ins and outs of her treatments, and the impacts it has had on her, her family and her friends (and occasionally on some poor unsuspecting medical staff).

In a nutshell, Meredith was originally diagnosed with Stage 2b breast cancer in September 2017. After a brutal battle that included chemo, a botched surgery, and radiation, she was declared healthy again. In June 2021, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 MBC after a routine CT scan caught a tumor on her lower spine. If this doesn’t make sense, don’t worry. All medical jargon will be explained!

Despite not knowing how much time she has left, she continues to receive treatments and has decided to pursue life to the fullest by helping her community better understand this disease, and by living her best life though bucket list travel.

This site is intended to be a safe space to ask any and all questions about her journey in particular, and cancer in general. It also includes some ways for you to be helpful in this battle, but only if you so choose. Being a wall flower is perfectly acceptable too.
